About Warlocks

Founded in 1989

Warlocks has a rich heritage as a veteran hockey club.  Warlocks was founded in 1989 by Mike Booth and built a reputation for being an outstanding hockey team. Many former international players have worn the Warlocks shirt.

Now in its fourth decade Warlocks continues to be one of the few clubs that is dedicated to veterans hockey. Today, Warlocks is for Men over 50 and Ladies over 40.

As well as sending teams to tournaments and on tours, Warlocks Mens, Ladies and Mixed teams have busy calendars throughout winter and summer. Warlocks men play in the Wessex Super Vets Alliance from October to March.

Warlocks Ladies over 45, Ladies over 55 and Mens over 60 enter England Hockey's Masters Club Knockout Competition but do not play in the regular England Hockey Leagues.

This means a Warlock is free to also play for any other club in an England Hockey League but cannot represent another club in the same cup competition.

Warlocks home fixtures are either at Lords Wandsworth College, Hook, Hampshire or at the National Physics Laboratory ground in Teddington, London.  The pitch at Lords Wandsworth College is excellent. It has changing facilities and is in close proximity to the Four Horseshoes, where Warlocks and their opponents go to recover from their exertions.
